Gossip, by B.J. Adams
Gossip, 25″ x 39″, 2005

B. J. Adams found her way from fine arts to fiber arts. She draws images on paper then re-creates them in thread and fabric.

The work above is from the Alphabet Variations series. She is making a wall hanging for each letter (not in order), sometimes using many objects that start with that letter, sometimes only one or two.

Four by Nine, by B.J. Adams
Four By Nine, 28″ x 28″, 2004

From the artist’s statement: My artwork began with representation, developed into abstraction, and now goes back and forth between the two, sometimes combining elements of both, as well as surrealism, in the same work. I want this realistic or surrealistic work to give the viewer a surprise, an out of context image, size, or viewpoint.
